The Short Path Distillation with Vacuum Pump Heating System is an economical bench top-scale short path distillation kit, specifically assembled to compete with low-budget market options. When trying to separate compounds having a complete turn-key system which includes all stands, clamps, hoses, connectors, and accessories necessary to perform distillations efficiently and with ease is of importance. The unit has a built in PID controller for control over such things as temperature setting and a knob for spin control, which allows adjustment over the spin vane in the system.
Advantages of Short Path Distillation:
The advantage is that the heating temperature can be considerably lower (at reduced pressure) than the boiling point of the liquid at standard pressure, and the distillate only has to travel a short distance before condensing. A short path ensures that little compound is lost on the sides of the apparatus.
